Recap
The morning after, Abu Bakar wakes up and dresses the cut on Zaryab's foot from the broken glass, with a quiet piece of advice: we shouldn't go near the things that hurt us. Zaryab borrows his phone to call her father, but uses it to read his messages with Zamil instead. Abu Bakar knows, and says nothing about it. He recites a verse instead.
Khushbakht keeps fussing over her daughter-in-law, who barely responds. She takes Zaryab to a local clinic for a tetanus shot, and Zaryab brings a chador with her. On the way back they stop at the bazaar, where Zaryab buys plain lawn fabric instead of her usual designer labels and rides in a rickshaw for the first time in her life.
Zaryab had accused Abu Bakar of marrying her for money, but the way he and his mother treat her keeps contradicting it. For the first time, the warmth of this simple home starts to reach her, and she and Khushbakht grow a little closer.
