Kishwar asks Khushbakht to send Abu Bakar to mediate between Faryal and Shuja. He does not like getting involved in other people's marriages, but agrees: if a home can be saved, the effort is worth it. He meets Beenish and then Shuja himself, who is cold and dismissive but stops short of a flat refusal.
The Karachi proposal arrives at his door with fruit, sweets, talk of a bungalow and advice to buy a 4x4. Abu Bakar refuses their money and defends his old car, a gift from his mother when he won an engineering scholarship. Later he tells Khushbakht no: he wants a wife, not a husband. He asks her to look for someone religious who is not too rich, too young or too glamorous.
In Boston, Zamil insults Zaryab by saying Shuja puts up with Faryal "just like me". He suddenly talks about marriage after a sermon, then calls love the biggest deception. Zaryab asks him whether there is another girl in his life.
